Carolina Ballet Theatre announces the celebration of their 50th season, as well as the show dates for the 2021-2022 season. The upcoming season runs from October 2021 to March 2022 at The Peace Center and DanceArts Greenville’s Black Box Theatre. In operation since 1972, Carolina Ballet Theatre is thrilled to celebrate their 50th anniversary as Greenville’s premier professional resident dance company.
“We are grateful for all our patrons and supporters that kept us going through last season and for the opportunity to continue to bring dance to the upstate,” said Artistic Director Hernan Justo. “We thank the entire upstate community for our success over the last fifty years and look forward to continuing to entertain the community in years to come.”
The season opens with a haunting performance of Ghosts (October 2021). Set to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, this will be the company’s fifth performance of the ballet. Carolina Ballet Theatre will also offer a family matinee show in addition to the traditional evening performances. The show will be held at The Peace Center Gunter Theatre.
Continuing the Christmas tradition, Carolina Ballet Theatre returns to The Peace Center for The Nutcracker: Once Upon a Time in Greenville (December 2021). Considered a must-do for the holiday season, the critically acclaimed production features sets depicting local Greenville scenes and is set to Tchaikovsky’s renowned score.
