Carolina Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker Returns to the Stage

Adapted from the classic holiday story from E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story the Nutcracker and The Mouse King, this reinvented version is choreographed by and under the artistic direction of Hernan Justo. This holiday classic is based on the original Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov ballet and its brought to life by the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsy (1180-1893) musical composition.

Continuing our reinvented holiday classic, Carolina Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker: Once Upon a Time in Greenville, bringing all of Clara’s adventures and excitement back home to Greenville. This European inspired production highlights Victorian societal expectations and prosperity all while Clara and her Nutcracker dance their way through the cherished landmarks and scenery of Greenville.

On opening night, Carolina Ballet Theatre has the distinct privilege to host Principal Dancer Daniel Ulbricht from NYCB and Principal Dancer Jeanette Delgado from Miami City Ballet. This season’s performance is brought to life by a 100+ person cast including, professional dancers: Laura Mortimer, Meghan Loman, Matt Harvey, Madeline Jazz Harvey, Peter Base, Christopher Collins and Lance Hardin.
