Black & Beautiful: A Tribute to African American Dancers

Join Carolina Ballet Theatre’s company of dancers as they perform Black & Beautiful Ballet: A Tribute to African American Dancers. This ballet is dedicated to recognizing African American dancers and choreographers that have shaped the dance landscape.

Honoring Black History Month for February 2019, CBT will perform Artistic Director Hernan Justo’s acclaimed and innovative ballet, Black & Beautiful: A Tribute to African American Dancers. Opening with “My Dream”, the ballet becomes a ballad of America’s soul which spans all of United States’ history featuring African Americans who shaped our national identity while forging their own. The performance will also feature special tributes to choreographers Alonzo King and Dwight Rhoden as well as prima ballerina, the late Raven Wilkinson.
